A block of Mysore Pack (Indian sweet) has sweetness, weight, and shape. The three cannot be separated, one from the other. Each little part of it has sweetness, weight, and shape. We don’t find shape in one part, weight in another, and sweetness in a third. And when it is placed on the tongue, taste is recognized, weight is lessened, and shape is modified, all at the same time. So too, the individual soul (Jiva), the Atma, and the Supreme Lord (Parameswara) are not separate. They are one and the same.

We should not accentuate differences but concentrate on unity.

Seeing unity in diversity is divinity and true spirituality.

In the same way, it is only the continued and sustained practice of sacred teachings that can lead to bliss. Great people of the past have left behind innumerable teachings that must be followed and ideal examples that ought to be copied. It is enough if you practice just one or two of these great lessons from the past.

The heart must be fed with good fodder in the form of good company, good conduct, and good thoughts. Whatever is done should be an offering to God.

It is wrong to worry about them, as they are gifts of God. You should always remember that you are a spark of the divine. You should resist the apparent obstacles and accomplish your tasks.

You may be a scholar or a wealthy person, or very clever and intelligent. But all these do not help you to secure God's grace. Saint Tukaram sang: "Oh Swami! I am not endowed with knowledge. I am incapable of performing Yajnas and Yagas (Vedic ritualistic sacrifices) or doing severe penance. Here is one easy path that I know to win your grace. That is the path of divine love. It is the royal road that will lead me to the presence of Rama." Tukaram declared emphatically that Rama cannot be realized by any other path except the path of love. This is the inner meaning of the statement: Love is God and God is Love.

You must discourage and control the emergence of bad qualities. When you are in a bad or an angry mood, keep silent. Do not exchange words, which cause the anger to multiply. That is why we say, “Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti” at the end of the bhajan. Why three times and not four times? It is to cover the three entities: body, mind, and spirit (Atma). You should have peace (shanti) in all the three levels.
