Interfaith Service for Nonviolence in Trinidad
By some measures the citizens of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago are fortunate. Nearly everyone on the twin islands has heard of Sathya Sai Baba. Over the years the Sri Sathya Sai Baba Organisation of Trinidad and Tobago has consistently spread the message of Sathya Sai Baba across the society. Through service projects in social care, medical care, and education, word of the universal human values has spread. The SSIO of Trinidad and Tobago for many years has provided regular broadcasts both on TV and radio on Sathya Sai and His Universal Message. The Sai Education Institute of West Indies has trained hundreds of teachers in Sathya Sai Education in Human Values. Devotees have started several Sathya Sai preschools which have been adopted by the government and still operate under the name of Sathya Sai now with government financing. A new Sathya Sai primary school will soon be built.
This recent interfaith service on nonviolence is an example of the human values and unity embraced by the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. The National President was invited to the event which was transmitted live on Trinity TV (local Roman Catholic media house) and was asked to do an intercessory prayer for nonviolence. After saying the prayer given by Sathya Sai Baba, he also distributed a card with the prayer and a quote from Sathya Sai Baba to all participants which was well received.
