International Conference April 20-23, 2023: Workshop Synopsis
FRIDAY, April 21
Organizational Excellence (AM)
“The main goal of the Sathya Sai Organisation is to help humanity recognize its inherent divinity. We must allow the feeling of Oneness to permeate all our acts and offer selfless service to those in need.”
What is working well in our pursuit of this goal, and how could we better achieve this? We will explore any gaps and identify the organizational activities that are facilitating members’ transformation toward Oneness. We will seek input on ways in which we can work across countries to share and promote best practices. We will explore how our commitment is being extended to the rest of humanity and identify ways in which we can further develop Sathya Sai’s organization.
Healthcare Services and Preventive Healthcare (AM)
This will be an interactive workshop giving the opportunity for active participation of every attendee on various topics of Healthcare services within the SSSIO. These topics include Medical Camps, Health Education, Healthcare through community outreach programs, and Human values in healthcare (Heart in healthcare). This workshop is suited to not only healthcare professionals but all interested laypersons. The goal is to come up with the best solutions and ways to improve healthcare services within the SSSIO – based on directed questions on specific topics.
Environmental Sustainability (PM)
“Man is the Image of the Creator.”
This workshop will focus on three aspects of environmental sustainability — nuclear disarmament, protecting species from extinction, and the Sai 100 tree planting project. It will suggest that inner transformation through scriptural wisdom, contemplation, and devotional action is a necessary prerequisite to achieving our spiritual and environmental goals.
Communications & Media (PM)
“Go to all corners of the world and share My Message of Love.”
The Communications and Media Workshop will start with discussions about the fundamental need and duty to share Swami’s message, His works, and most importantly, His love with one and all. Before going into specific ways and means to achieve this goal, we will discuss the major objectives – to inform, to inspire, to motivate, and to transform both SSSIO members and the public.
We will provide an overview of the tools and resources available within the SSSIO and new initiatives being implemented, including Media Academy, Media Internship, YouTube, Digital Media, and new Website design.
SATURDAY, April 22
Women: The Beacons of Nations (AM)
Swami said, past, present, or future, at all times, women are the backbone of progress and the heart of the nation. This workshop will begin with identifying and understanding the qualities and inner powers of women based on Swami’s teachings. As women are repositories of energy, role models of patience, sacrifice, fortitude, and compassion, meaningful discussions will follow to help recognize the ‘InSAIde’ powers of women. This will be an interactive and reflective workshop.
Education in Human Values, Sathya Sai Schools and Institutes (AM)
The Global Impact of Sathya Sai Education in Human Values – Loving Service in Action
Sathya Sai Education in Human Values is currently taking place in over 100 countries worldwide. The efficacy of the program will be discussed along with how the program has effectively been integrated into a wide range of venues such as schools, various community organizations, agencies, workplaces, healthcare, etc. The 28 Institutes of Sathya Sai Education worldwide and the 40 Sathya Sai Schools will be included in the discussion.
Sharing Swami’s Message: Public Meetings & Community Support (PM)
Our Objective is to bring greater awareness of Swami’s teachings and their application to daily living. Another objective is to serve and support communities in a sustainable manner by providing food, healthcare, education, and other necessities with love and compassion, thus transforming hearts.
We will discuss public meetings, including dealing with the public media, planning and holding the meeting, and follow-up. We will also discuss the community adoption programs SSSIO implemented a few years ago and how to intensify our efforts to adopt more communities with additional service programs for Swami’s 100th Birthday.
Sai Spiritual Education (SSE) - What we practice, we become! (PM)
In this workshop, we will (a) learn about Sathya Sai Baba's vision for and commitment to spiritual renaissance, (b) examine the why, what, and how of spiritual education, and (c) develop a personalized toolkit for right living and spiritual thinking.
SUNDAY, April 23
Lead With Love: Young Adults (YAs) Across Borders (AM)
This is a YA-led workshop for YAs.
After years of uncertainty and change through the pandemic, YAs now find themselves at a challenging crossroads. There is a new dynamic at the forefront for YAs in the SSSIO with an emphasis on meeting the demands of daily life, ensuring inclusive dialogue and transparency, all while staying connected to the deeper purpose of spirituality and Sai. As we move ahead in the Sai Mission, these factors become influential in the decisions that Young Adults make.
This workshop is designed to be thought-provoking, engaging, and inspiring. We will examine current challenges faced by Young Adults internationally (obtained through a worldwide survey) and co-create practical, actionable solutions inspired by Sai values that are grounded in the inherent needs of young adults today.
Panel Discussion on SAI 100 (AM)
SSSIO offers the SAI 100 program at the divine lotus feet of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba for His 100th Birthday in 2025. This noble and inspiring project has 12 initiatives to serve humanity, intensify our spiritual journey, and serve everyone and Nature, which is the vesture of God. The team leaders will summarize their work with SSSIO members worldwide and have an interactive discussion about going forward.
Innovative Ideas, Going Forward (AM)
Swami’s Divine Message is the fundamental solution to all challenges that we and the world face. The root solution for all social ills lies in the transformation of the human heart. We will discuss:
- How do we intensify our efforts in a changing world to stick to the practice of Swami’s message in our daily lives?
- How do we use the new tools available in the world to implement the mission of the SSSIO?
- What steps can we take to accelerate our engagement with the broader community and further spread the Sai Message?
