Benin
On June 16, 2023, SSSIO volunteers in Benin provided loving healthcare services at a medical camp. They offered blood pressure check-ups, blood glucose and cholesterol testing, Body Mass Index (BMI) evaluation, and general health checks.
Congo DR
SSSIO volunteers distributed stationery items to about 108 impoverished students on October 8, 2023.
Kenya
In June 2023, 1,000 native trees were planted in partnership with the CPDA Organization and Linda Mazingira, which have direct and wide reach within the local communities. The organizations collaborate with and are funded by the SSSIO to achieve their tree-planting targets. On June 16, 2023, 2,000 tree seedlings were planted at the Mungatsi Technical Training Institute.
A planning meeting with the Malaba Municipality on June 23, 2023, strengthened the SSSIO’s relationship with the local government, and over 100 trees were planted in Machakos County on November 13, 2023.
Madagascar
SSSIO Madagascar organized annual medical clinics to provide primary healthcare to 1,163 impoverished individuals and supplied milk powder daily to 17 mothers and their children.
In February 2023, 42 SSSIO volunteers planted 200 trees in the Imerintsiatosika Fonenana region, which is 20 km from the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Madagascar.
In November 2023, 250 patients were treated at an eye clinic, and 94 received eyeglasses.
Malawi
SSSIO volunteers organized a blood camp in December 2023, where 23 people donated blood.
Mauritius
On May 1, 2023, a workshop on plant-based diets was held to discuss the benefits of vegetarian food. A medical camp was held on May 24, 2023, screening patients for hypertension, diabetes, hypoglycemia, and visual impairment. Physiotherapy sessions were given to 24 people with persistent knee and lower back pain.
On August 27, 2023, 184 persons donated blood. SSSIO volunteers prepared hot meals and refreshments for the "Pere Laval" Pilgrimage on September 8, 2023. The volunteers also served free food to the needy people on November 25 and 26, 2023.
Nigeria
In July 2023, SSSIO volunteers distributed dry rations to 250 individuals in four different locations (Bodija Market, Mokola Bridge, Sabo Settlement, and Barracks Road Mokola). Every week, 200 impoverished individuals were served a cooked meal and beverages.
SSSIO volunteers conducted a medical camp during which blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol testing, BMI evaluation, and general health checks were performed.
South Africa
In June 2023, 20 Spek Boom (Indigenous trees) trees were planted, and a 5,000-liter water tank was installed at Sri Krishna Goshala. In addition, existing tanks were filled with 20,000 liters of water for the cows and animals.
A sanitary pad bank was created to help young ladies who could not afford sanitary pads. By December 2023, 1,739 packs had been distributed at shelters, youth centers, schools, and homes.
In June, SSSIO volunteers partnered with the Gift of the Givers Organisation to assist families affected by natural disasters, contributing 450 food hampers. In July, SSSIO distributed hot meals, 200 blankets, and grocery hampers to the Inanda settlement families. SSSIO volunteers and community members also organized a beach clean-up, collecting over 20 bags of litter.
In August, a "Mother and Child" project was conducted at Shakaskraal Community School for the benefit of 23 mothers and 28 children. Services included medical check-ups, talks on parenting, tree planting, and distribution of school shoes and food hamper.
In September, the Public Outreach Committee held Value-Based Game Days, promoting effective communication and interaction. SSSIO volunteers also partnered with Green Buddies to collect 300 bags of waste. In October, the Enviro Club conducted an educational trip focusing on environmental education, games, and quizzes.
Tanzania
SSSIO volunteers regularly provide computer and digital classroom training at public schools, collaborating with Smart Schools to use the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) syllabus. They also conduct sanitation projects, providing toilets, water tanks, and changing rooms for impoverished families. Every fortnight, SSSIO members continue to distribute 5 kg bags of maize flour in the impoverished Kawe or Mikocheni districts of Dar es Salaam.
In October 2023, 150 white canes were distributed to visually challenged individuals through the Tanzania League of the Blind.
Monthly medical camps are held providing blood pressure measurement, glucose, cholesterol testing, and BMI evaluation. In July 2023, 180 people were examined, 48 of whom were diagnosed with hypertension and 13 with high blood sugar levels. In October 2023, medical camps were conducted in many districts, and patients received prescriptions and were referred to specialists as indicated.
Uganda
In 2023, SSSIO volunteers served hot meals and beverages to 150 impoverished children. The volunteers planted 350 trees in the forest area in October 2023.
