On 15 November 2019, the Sathya Sai College of Murwillumbah, New South Wales (NSW) won the People’s Choice Award for Schools, for sustainability. The practices implemented include: no general-waste bins on school grounds, thereby avoiding waste for landfill; creating healthy habits by eating unpackaged foods; connecting with nature during outdoor classroom day; weekly gardening; developing edible gardens; and adopting the 3 R’s: Refuse, Reduce, Recycle. The award was presented by the local Tweed Council at the inaugural Sustainability Champions ceremony.

Dr. Gunvantrai Naker of the SSSIO of Australia was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) on Australia Day, 26 January 2020, for rendering outstanding medical services to the needy. The OAM recognises Australian citizens for achievements or meritorious services.

On 12 May 2019, Women in Super presented the Mother’s Day Classic Walk Award to the SSSIO of Australia for the highest community participation in five states in Australia.

On 30 May 2019, in recognition of the selfless community service in Canberra, the Barbara Hocking Memorial Award was presented to the SSSIO of Australia.

On 23 October 2019, the SSSIO received recognition from Canadian Blood Services for outstanding success with 145 blood donors and 125 units collected.

On 26 October 2019, the Mayor of the city of Santiago de Guayaquil recognised Juanita Villa, director of the ISSE Colombia, and Maria Cecilia Villamizar, Central Coordinator, Zone 2B of the SSSIO, as Guests of Honour of the city for teaching Sathya Sai Education in Human Values to the community in Ecuador.

Dr. Narendra Reddy, Chair of the Sathya Sai Trust of Fiji and Dr. Saraswati Nandan, National Medical Coordinator of the SSSIO of Fiji were awarded Fiji Honours Medals for their outstanding work in the community, including the arrangement of several medical camps in the community, each year.

The SSSIO of Malaysia was recognised by the National Blood Bank as the largest single Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in Malaysia that organised blood donation drives in 2019.

On 15 June 2019, His Excellency, Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoory, G.O.S.K, acting President of the Republic of Mauritius, in the presence of Honourable Etienne Sinatambou, Minister of Social Security, presented an award to the SSSIO of Mauritius for significant contribution to blood donation activities on World Blood Donor Day.

On 14 June 2019, World Blood Donor Day, the Blood Donors Association of Nepal presented a Running Shield Award and a certification of appreciation to the SSSIO of Nepal for the highest amount (954 pints) of blood donations among social organisations. This is the sixth year in a row that the SSSIO of Nepal has received this award.

The Everyday Meal Programme Kai from Sai was started in October 2018 in Auckland by the SSSIO of New Zealand. On 6 September 2019, Mangere Otahuhu Local Board and the Manurewa Local Board of the Auckland Council presented certificates of commendation to the SSSIO of New Zealand.

The ISSE Peru was recognised for teaching human values in Ecuador. On 1 November 2019, Ms. Flor de María Ramón, director of the ISSE of Peru, received Honourable Mention by the Mayor of Sucre Canton. On 26 October 2019, Mr. Juan Carlos Ponce de León was named Guest of Honour of the City of Santiago de Guayaquil, by the Mayor of Cinthya Viteri, for the First International SSEHV Programme held in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

The 23rd Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment of Sri Lankan Army presented an award to the SSSIO of Sri Lanka for providing safe drinking water to about 2,500 people residing in Kathaliyar Samalankulam, and Oddusuddan villages.

On 23 April 2019, the Taipei Happy Mount in Bali, New Taipei City, a home for people with disabilities, gave a certificate of appreciation to the SSSIO of Taiwan for services rendered.

On 15 August 2019, the Taipei Blood Donation Centre presented a certificate of appreciation to the SSSIO of Taiwan for blood donation.

On 25 December 2019, the Taiwan Catholic Foundation of Alzheimer Disease and Related Dementia presented a certification of appreciation to the SSSIO for participating in Christmas celebrations and serving elderly residents.

On 27 October 2019, the Longdenville Sathya Sai Primary school received the People’s Choice Award in a video competition called, Non-Violence Begins With Me, organised by the Living Waters Foundation, a service wing of the Roman Catholic church.

On 23 September 2019, the Queen’s Walk Community Association presented an award to the SSSIO of UK for long-standing services.

On 14 August 2019, the SSSIO in Houston, Texas received a letter of commendation from the Honourable Sheila Lee Jackson, Member, Congress of the United States for the donation of 30 air conditioners for the Beat the Heat programme. This programme helps disabled persons over 65 and veterans who do not have an air conditioner, which can make the difference between life and death.

As part of the Protect the Planet initiative, the Young Adults of Sathya Sai Centre of Austin in Texas have been leading a periodic clean-up of a creek and trail. On 7 September 2019, a certificate was presented to the Sathya Sai Centre of Austin for their role in the Keep Austin Beautiful initiative.

Since 2017, more than 150 SSSIO volunteers from Texas have helped over 100 Cambodian families to rebuild their community in Rosharon, Texas, after it was devastated by Hurricane Harvey. A plaque was presented to the SSSIO in recognition of the services rendered.
